Way to Go Billman Boys!

Centreville Elementary School has a "Call of the Day" Award and Ethan was the recipient of it this week!  I got a call from his assistant principal to congratulate me with the big news!

--------------------------------------------------

Also, I was copied on an email from Gavin's soccer coach to the SYA head coach with the following:
I am writing you to let you know that I have a player, Gavin Billman, who has made great strides this year, was MVP of our game yesterday, and is a perfect candidate to participate in the Emerging Talent Program.

Gavin is an extremely motivated player, humble, hard-working, a leader on the field who is aggressive on the ball in both attack and defense.

He made a defensive play yesterday that I have yet to see another 6-year old make in my three years coaching with SYA! He ran back -from an attacking position- to clear a ball away from his net, and in two strides he touched the ball twice with his left foot, and cleared it up the left hash line. I was on the other side of the pitch, and I literally ran across the field to celebrate this play. It was more impressive to me, than the many goals he also scored yesterday. :) I think he's more than ready for the jump to Emerging Talent.
Gavin made 6 goals and played one of his best games ever!

Way to go Ethan and Gavin!  You make us proud and you make God proud!!

Lake Accotink

Spring Break for the boys is coming to an end.  But before that, I wanted to get out and spend some family time on a hike. We drove to Lake Accotink in Springfield and enjoyed a beautiful day on the trail followed by a picnic lunch. We all (Kaika included) hiked over 4 miles.  Way to go Family!

Ethan found the tiniest baby turtle.  It was so cute!

More turtles sun bathing.

President's Day

Since I have to go into work, Gabbie is coming to the house to watch the boys.  For once, I tried to plan ahead and got dinner going early.  Apparently, I left in a hurry and accidentally left the stove on and it wasn't until 5 hours later that I realized it.  Thankfully I was able to text the sitter and have her turned it off.  I guess she saw it and thought I was cooking it ALL day.  Oh my.  That could have been bad.  So I had to give the boys a lesson as well about how the gas stove should NEVER EVER be on.  Crock pot - yes.  Gas stove - no.  But ultimately, my fault though =0/

Grocery Pick Up & A Ticket

I hate meal planning, making a list and the worse part of all - grocery shopping.  It was such a drag every.single.week. because I am not organized enough in this department.  Yet I somehow managed all these years.  But I remembered telling Brian back in Iowa how I would love to be able to order my grocery online and then just go pick it up.  Well, my dream has become a reality!  Walmart now has an online grocery order and drive up service and today was my first day trying it.  It was awesome and everything I ever imagined.  Apparently, I was so excited about the whole ordeal that I unintentional sped home and ended up getting a speeding ticket.  Free grocery pick up and $157 speeding ticket later.  Go figures.
