Reunion with My Brother
So thankful for this last minute opportunity to fly to Nashville and see my brother (who flew in from Thailand). Such an emotional time as it has been 8 years plus we both were nervous! But it was a great reunion as we walked down memory lanes and also filled each other in on our lives. No doubt God orchestrated everything so this reunion would happen.

Happy Friday Indeed!
Finally, Brian is officially promoted to Project Management! It has been long coming. So proud of him!!!

Ethan also lost his first tooth today! That has been long coming as well. Apparently, it came loose while he was eating his snacks and didn't even know it. It was a good thing he didn't swallow it. The tooth fairy came and deposited 50c while he was sleeping. I woke up abruptly in the middle of the night as I remembered that the "tooth" was left in a ziplock bag downstairs on the dining room table. That would have been disastrous!

Gavin threw up at Target today as I went to get Ethan goggles for his first day of swim lesson. Poor kid had a fever of 105 and was lethargic by bed time. Hopefully it'll kick soon!

Enjoyed a fun "desserts and drinks" night with our small group at Sweet Water. I seriously ate too much!

Calm Before the Storm
Went to a baseball game for church social night only to be there for 15 minutes before witnessing the darkest clouds rolled in with thunder, lightning, a tornado watch and flash flood warning. Great. The game was cancelled so was the fireworks afterwards. What are we to do? Go shopping at a nearby outlet mall. #adventurous

Operation: Motivation
In order to help Ethan feel motivated and finish out the school year strong, I decided to do a "Happy Friday" celebration for the rest of June.
Week #1: Ethan requested that we go to Burger King to eat and play.
Week #2: We headed to the pool right after school followed by a treat at Sweet Frog. He also got a new book (that I've scored from the library book fair) every day for the next two weeks.
Week #3: Last day of school. He made it!!! We brought some bomb pops to celebrate with friends right after school. Then I surprised him with the year book that he has been asking for.

Woke up early this morning to Brian's voice saying "I think I had a seizure. We need to go to the hospital." Thankfully it was just a severe muscle spasm and convulsion that caused dizziness and nausea. So weird and scary nevertheless.

Just for Laughs
The things Ethan would wish for if he has a wishing well (as he calls it).
I wish I could go to Disneyland
My dream is that I could see Jake the Pirate and Cody would be real.
I wish that my Birthday would be everyday.
I wish I could go to the beach.
I wish I could go to the Rainbow Park.
I wish I could go to the water park.
I want a Zip n Flip sheet (ZippySack).
Looks like somebody is ready to be done with school.

More Tantrums & Mamma Wisdom of the Week
I haven't written much about Gavin's tantrums and melt downs because we haven't really had any - until this week. Thought we were completely done and moving on...but I guess they're baaaack! In full force, once again. Ugh. Took him to the library today because I thought it would be fun but instead he shrieked at the top of his lungs. The librarian came over to ask if we needed medical help. Yeah that bad. Needless to say we left in a hurry and didn't borrow a thing. Trying not to be discouraged and working on my "do-not-be-angry-while-disciplining" but it is SO hard! Oh Lord help me!!!
-------------------------------------------
On a happier-ish note, I think I've finally figured out a good balance between Gavin's nap and bedtime hours. Previously, Gavin was napping for almost 2 hours and not falling asleep until 10 pm. And that meant our evenings are constantly interrupted by him knocking and screaming at the door because he's struggling to fall asleep (partially because he's a night owl anyhow). But now I've moved his nap time to earlier in the day and only letting him sleep for an hour. Then putting him to bed by 9 pm and he's usually out by 9:30 pm. Even though it's pretty late and cutting into our evening time, at least now it's peaceful with no more dramas at the door.

So glad Ethan has a Kindergarten Field Day today where they get to play and do activities outside (and with water too). He has been working hard all year and definitely could use a break to do "fun" stuff.
