Had a solid night of sleep last night and woke up to a glorious morning of quietness. Tonight? Not so much.

Pregnancy/Baby Updates

• I went in for another ultrasound yesterday since my midwife thought I was measuring small. Anyway, the ultrasound confirmed her hunch that I'm actually more like 26 weeks along than 28 weeks. So most likely she'll move my due date back, which at this point it really doesn't matter to me. We have a while still.
  
  
• The baby is quite active which is making me a little nervous. He's supposed to be my calm one remember? Haha. No expectations here so I guess we'll see.
  
  
• Got rid of my body pillow which apparently did nothing for me and got another fluffier pillow. It helped tremendously although there's still some nights I can't sleep anyway. Last night I tried to eat a smaller dinner portion and didn't snack. I felt pretty good, but it might just be a coincidence. Who knows?

Just For Laughs

My attempt to help Ethan with his AWANA verse:

Me: Ethan can you repeat after me? I am...
Ethan (with a smile): Frustrated.
Me: No. Say "I am."
Ethan (now with a giggle): Frustrated with you.
Me (couldn't help but laugh too): Wonderfully made. Forget it!-------------------------
While reading together one night:

Ethan: I love you Mommy!
Me: Aw, that was nice. I love you, too!
Ethan: No, the book.
Me (disappointed): Oh, you're talking about your new book I Love You, Mommy.
Ethan: Yes.-------------------------
Ethan's new way of getting our attention is by saying, "HEY! Mamma! WOOHOO!"

Ethan's Three

Last week, Ethan turned 3 and over the weekend we had an Elmo party for him. Brian's parents came to join the celebrations and made it extra special. He loved it all!


I just cannot believe this lil' guy of ours is 3 already!


Oh, he devoured that cake and ice-cream



He also went in for his annual check up and came home with some stats. Height: 40 in, weight: 35.7 lbs and unfortunately had to get another Hep B shot.

Didn't realize we were supposed to get our first snow today. Ethan was all over that stuff.

Ethan came down with a cough/cold so we're in semi-quarantine all week. No fun.

The Incident

Tonight while I was cooking dinner, Ethan went over to the lady next door to play. Half an hour later, they both come through my back door and I hear Ethan crying. He had blood on his nose and cheek and I thought that maybe he had fallen. It turned out Ethan had jumped on her Shih Tzu and it bit him. His face was red, swollen and looked pretty bad although he got over it pretty quickly and acted like his normal self the rest of the night. He's one tough kid, I tell ya! Bed time was a different story though since I think he was in pain and couldn't lay down on his face like usual. We gave him some Tylenol, held him for a little bit and that seemed to help.

Anyway, I'm not mad about it or anything since I know it was an accident. However, I couldn't shake this sick-in-the-stomach feeling I had all night and just got really teary about it. (Pregnancy hormones may or may not be the contributor). I was initially scared and now partially still in shock that this had happened to him...with my motherly protective instinct kicking in too. Then I got all worried about him being the "person of the week" at preschool tomorrow and also his birthday party coming up. I really had to stop myself and give the situation and Ethan to the Lord. There's really nothing I can do and I'm just thankful that it wasn't any worse.
