Winter Storm Jonas Part II

Sunday: our church (which meets in a middle school) was cancelled because FCPS closed all activities on school grounds.  Snowing continued and turned into a blizzard-like condition.  By the afternoon, it finally stopped and the whole neighborhood came out to shovel and snow blow.  It was nice to chit chat with everyone and even Kaika got to play with the neighbor dog.

Monday: Schools were closed.  The plows didn't come back so Brian couldn't get to work.  He up working from home which was nice in a sense to see him, but hard at the same time because he actually has to work and couldn't hang out with us.  We took the boys sledding in the neighborhood hill and it turned out to be a little too big for them.  Ethan got the wind knocked out of him and Gavin went flying and landed with snow on his face.  Time to go home I guess.  We'll have to try that again next year!

Tuesday: Schools were closed.  Still no plows so Brian took my car with 4x4 and once he got out of our neighborhood the main roads were cleared.  I thought about taking the boys out to the mall or something, but Brian suggested not as I would be stuck for sure (with his car).  It was a loooong day for us with nothing else to do.  I pretty much let them watch as much cartoon as they wanted.  By the afternoon, the plows finally came and cleared a single lane for cars to get in and out.  So thankful they finally came!  I started plotted plans for the rest of the week to get the boys out of the house.

Wednesday:  Schools were closed.  Went over to Kristy's house to hang out and let the boys sled on a friendlier hill.  They had fun see other people instead of just each other.

Thursday:  Schools were closed.  Went to the gym and grocery store and had to use gum balls as bribery.

Friday: Schools were closed.  Dragged the boys to the gym again against their will and promised them lunch at McDonald's.  All in all, we got 30.8" of snow.
