Show Me the Money

Ever since we gave Ethan chores to help out with, I've also been wanting to somehow implement allowances in order to teach him about money.  (And I figured a little motivation to get ready in the morning wouldn't hurt).  I wasn't exactly sure how to go about with the whole "helping out around the house vs getting paid to do chores" and then how much.  So after thinking through some guideline while trying to find a good balance, this is what I came up with:

Morning:
-feed Kaika (10c without being told)
{-get dressed
-eat breakfast
-brush teeth
-use bathroom
-make bed } (10c without being told)

Night:
-set & clear the table
-take out the trash (Monday nights) - 10c
-putting away silverware
-feed Kaika (10c without being told)
-brush teeth
-wash face
-use bathroom

At the end of the week, the money he earns goes into three jars - one for 10% tithing, one for 10% savings, and one for spending.  Ethan had mentioned that he wanted to go to the Dollar Tree and buy some stuff.  So I explain to him what he can buy, how much and that once the money is gone he'll have to save up again.  This is what he has been thinking about for several days and decided to purchase:

 and a party blower
 

and decided to save the rest of his money for another day.  Such a responsible purchaser!
