today we've moved to Virginia. Still feel surreal at times to look back on our lives and this whole journey. There was our move and how we could barely remember when the boys were this young (Ethan- 3 and Gavin- NB):
and then our first year here. It wasn't easy, but through it all God has been SO faithful to our family!
Anyway, God works in mysterious ways and often times He doesn't reveal past reasoning to us. However, recently He chose to do so and we're so thankful. Before moving out here, Brian interviewed with two companies: Summit and Dewberry and as you know, he chose the latter. Well, as it turns out Dewberry recently hired on a lady from Summit (whom Brian met and remembered) because they're struggling to make payroll. Apparently, several of the management had to take a no pay for a few months. As soon as both Brian and I heard that, we knew it was God who gave us wisdom three years ago when Brian had to make a decision between the two companies.
Well on with these past few weeks, we've been waiting all year to get the much needed new windows and after checking our financial status and praying, we took the plunge. Then a week after that, our furnace was making squeaky high pitch noise so Brian got someone to come out and take a look at it. It turns out the inducer motor bearings have failed which will need to be replaced. No big deal. AND there's a crack in the heat exchangers, which means we will need a new furnace. At the time, we didn't know if this was a blessing in disguise or not because our home warranty (that our realtor gifted us with) is about to expire at the end of the month and we needed a new furnace anyway because it's 21 years old. So long story short, the home warranty people are only going to give us $500+ pay out (which isn't as much as we were hoping for) and in the mean time try to decide which efficiency furnace + which company to go with, whether to replace it now or in the Fall and if we should go ahead and replace the AC too since it will eventually need replacing as well and we would have to pay for them to come out again. Lots of decisions to make here. Our usual selves in this situation would be freaking out right now, second guessing ourselves and wondering if we made a mistake by deciding to replace the windows when now the furnace needs replacing too. BUT my new self which has been filled with God's truths and characters this past year (through BSF) is choosing to trust God and this unforeseen situation. We didn't know it was going to happen, but God knew. And when we prayed about the windows, we felt peace and his permission to do so. So now we're just going to trust God who is always faithful and has always provided for us. I smile at this story and our journey here in Virginia as I smile and think back of God's journey with the Israelites from Egypt to the Promised Land.
