New Hobby

Three weeks ago, I decided to start a new hobby with an old interest of mine - knitting. I think my mom was the one who taught it to me a long time ago, but I've never actually made anything. In part because I didn't know how to read the instructions. Anyway, I saw this beautiful baby blanket that Brian's niece has and got motivated. I went online to look up the pattern and tweaked it to what I wanted. It'll probably make no sense to you non knitters, but this is mainly for my own record:

Basketweave Baby Blanket
Cast off 114
seed stitched (K,P,K,P,etc) x 10 rows
7 seed stitched each end
basketweave (K10,P10) x 10 rows
basketweave (P10,K10) x 10 rows
(for 15 sets)
seed stitched (K,P,K,P,etc) x 10 rows
Bind off

It's a pretty easy pattern and thanks to Youtube video here and there, it helped me out a lot on the how to's. I'm not done yet, but here's what I got so far. What do you think? I'm finding it addicting and not wanting to put it down. When I do I can't wait to pick it back up. So now my hubby calls me "Knitting Granny." Gee, thanks honey.
